The story of two women who begin to question their belief in love and the laws of physics. As teenagers, Eren, the daughter of a powerful member of the Turkish parliament, and Reyhan, the daughter of the keeper in the summer house that Eren’s family owns, fall deeply in love. Their ill-fated love affair gets ended abruptly and forcibly by Eren’s parents. 20 years later, they cross paths again and embark on a day-long journey around the stunning island of Büyükada near Istanbul. Together they try to lift an old love spell, which Reyhan had put on Eren, while taking a trip down memory lane. Ümit Ünal’s film is a nostalgic and modern melodrama and a queer response to conventional and heteronormative currents within Turkish cinema.
