Miguel ist haltlos. Seine Zukunft ungewiss. Die Vergangenheit - ein blinder Fleck
- der sich gespenstisch in seinem Leben breit gemacht hat. Sein Blick leert sich, wenn er darauf schaut. Aufgewachsen ist
er unter der Obhut seiner Großmutter in Portugal. Eine Heimat hat er in den desolaten Verhältnissen dort nicht finden können.
Die Wurzeln der Familie liegen auf Cabo Verde. Dort, vermutet er, ist auch sein Vater zurück geblieben, den er nur aus Erzählungen
kennt. In der Vitrine eines Reisebüros entdeckt er zufällig ein Angebot für einen Flug dorthin. Das Schicksal ruft
und Miguel hört hin.

Miguel was raised by his grandmother, who emigrated to Portugal from Cabo Verde. Despite having spent his entire life there, Miguel hasn’t managed to call Portugal his home. He is told that his father, whom he has never known, still lives in Cabo Verde and so Miguel decides to leave in search for his father, his roots, and himself.
