Anfangs hörte Dian nur ein lautes, tiefes Donnern. Als sie sich umdrehte, sah sie einen Tsunami aus dunklem Schlamm auf ihr Dorf zufließen. Ein Jahrzehnt später wurden fast 60.000 Menschen in Ost-Java vertrieben. Eine Mondlandschaft aus Schlamm hat sich über jenes Gebiet gelegt, das zu einem beliebten Ort für Kunstinstallationen, Fotoshootings und Selfie-Stick Verkäufer_innen wurde. Inmitten dieser postapokalyptischen Ödnis kämpft Dian gegen jenes Öl- und Gasunternehmen, das im Verdacht steht, den unterirdischen Schlammvulkan ausgelöst zu haben, der zu einer der größten von Menschen verursachten Umweltkatastrophen der Welt geführt hat.
